Almost 1,100 More People In Kildare Have Taken On Caring Roles.

Another 1,092  people in Kildare have taken on caring roles since Census 2011.

There are now 8,142 people in the county who “provided regular unpaid personal help for a friend or family member with a long-term illness, health problem or disability”

Census 2016 indicates that this is a 15.15% increase

62% of Kildare carers are women, and 193 carers are under 15 years of age.

Carers provided 283,946 hours of care per week, an average of 39.4 hours per carer per week.
